Halifax Skating Club is currently seeking a volunteer Treasurer to join the Board of Directors.

As a member of the Board Executive, the Treasurer will provide financial advise, oversee the financial reporting and assist with costing out programs approximately four times a year.

The Halifax Board of Directors meets approximately 8-10 times per year.

This role is ideally suited to a CPA or CPA candidate. 

About the Halifax Skating Club

The Halifax Skating Club is the oldest skating club in Canada. It was founded in 1862 with children learning to skate on a pond in the Public Gardens in downtown Halifax.  Today the club has approximately 400 members.  Halifax Skating Club’s home rink is at Centennial Arena on Vimy Avenue in Halifax, Nova Scotia. 

The Halifax Skating Club offers a variety of programs at all levels of skating  - from beginners to elite competitive skaters.

The Halifax Skating Club is a volunteer, non-profit organization and an associate member of Skate Canada.  The Club is administered by a dedicated group of volunteers and employs professional skating coaches who are certified through the National Coaching Certification Program

The club is always looking for new volunteers to join the Board.
