Financial Pricing Analyst - Halifax, NS 

To support CGI's growing presence here in Atlantic Canada, we are looking at hiring professional Financial Analysts to work with our US and Canadian Financial Engineering teams to support the financial modeling for new business opportunities across North America. 

These positions will work under the supervision of the North American Financial Business Engineering team leader (as designated), however the successful candidates must be capable of working independently, exhibiting good judgment and taking proactive steps throughout the proposal process. 

Your future duties and responsibilities: 

  • Utilize Excel-based financial modelling tool to develop financial models representing each assigned opportunity 
  • Develop financial models accurately reflecting: all costs associated with the opportunity; pricing reflecting competitive market price as guided by opportunity leadership; appropriate margins for cost elements included in the proposal, while maintaining competitive price (working collaboratively with opportunity leadership); cash flows associated with the opportunity; representative accounting treatment
  • Prepare pricing submissions in response to customer requests for proposal (both competitive Requests for Proposal as well as unsolicited bids for new business or contract extensions), working within tight and strict proposal schedules
  • May participate in development of pricing narratives accompanying overall proposal document
  • Directly interface with Opportunity Pursuit Leads, technical personnel and other pursuit team members in order to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial model
  • Analyze and understand estimates of labor, CGI software, third party software, equipment and other direct costs
  • Develop financial slides for inclusion in internal review and approval material
  • May present financial slides during internal reviews
  • Requires ability to work independently and proactively, applying good judgment through development of financial models 

Required qualifications to be successful in this role 
Two to five years of accounting and/or financial analysis experience 

  • Ability to keep flexible work hours, which sometimes requires working nights and weekends in order to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to travel if required
  • Undergraduate degree in business. Focus in Finance and/or Accounting is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Experience in Microsoft Office
  • Previous pricing or other financial modeling experience a plus
