This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.




The Manager - Financial Analytics provides financial leadership, business advice and guidance to their respective Zone and assigned Provincial Programs in support of attaining their goals and objectives while ensuring overall fiscal responsibility. He/She has a primary responsibility for Zone-wide and Provincial Program financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, reporting and analysis.

This position manages a team of six (6) Financial Analysts that supports the operational leadership in the ongoing development and delivery of high quality, provincially integrated health programs and services that are based on provincial standards of care, efficient, sustainable, safe and responsive to the needs of Nova Scotians. The position contributes to the leadership of and supports strategies and operational plans consistent with legislation, accountability frameworks and the mission, vision and values of the organization. The Manager Financial Analytics supports a provincially integrated process by working collaboratively within the larger Financial Analytics Team to support all leaders across the organization.  The position assists with leading the design and development of numerous business plans and business cases to support the effective, efficient and sustainable delivery of services and programs.





  • Undergraduate degree and CPA designation 
  • Minimum of Five (5) years' financial experience with managing and overseeing monthly forecast, budget and  variance analysis activities of an organization
  • Experience in financial analytics, business case development and the creation and monitoring of key performance indicators for decision support
  • Experience with establishing and monitoring financial policies and procedures
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to multi-task to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and influencing skills
  • Strong knowledge of health care issues and SAP preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience an assetCompetencies in other languages an asset; French preferred

Hours of Work
Long-assignment, Full-time Position with an approximate start date of July 02, 2018 and an expected end date of May 02, 2020 (approx. 22 months)




Salary Information


$77,156 - $96,445 annually
