 Reporting directly to the Vice President, Finance, the primary accountabilities of the role are:

Integrity of Accounting and Financial Reporting
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and associated reports in a timely manner
  • Prepare year-end financial statements and manage the external audit
Insightful and Meaningful Financial Analysis
  • Compile and present financial data, both historic analyses and future projections, to allow for effective and informed decision making
  • Constantly review financial data to identify opportunities for economic efficiency
  • Ensure company personnel are knowledgeable in key financial concepts, such as ROI, by leading financial education projects
  • Safeguard company assets and determine the appropriate management of risk through the application of best practice principles and internal controls
  • Oversee regulatory compliance and filings associated with taxation, security, and other government and/or industry requirements
  • Maximize the effectiveness of the ERP (Syspro) to automate processes, improve data integration, and provide organization-wide access to information for decision making,control, and operational efficiency
People Leadership
  • Manage a team of support staff to execute daily financial transactions and functions
  • Facilitate team engagement and develop team members to their full potential

Finance/Accounting Knowledge

  • A professional accounting designation with career experience that demonstrates achievement, progression, and potential
  • Extensive exposure to both external financial reporting and internal management accounting
