CPA Nova Scotia honours nine CPAs for their contributions to the profession and community

Halifax, NS, September 8, 2022 – The Chartered Professional Accountants of Nova Scotia (CPA Nova Scotia) is pleased to announce that seven of the province’s professional accountants have been awarded the profession’s highest mark of distinction, the Fellow (FCPA) designation. This is an honorary designation awarded to Chartered Professional Accountants whose achievements in their careers or the community earn them distinction and bring honour to the profession.

CPA Nova Scotia has also awarded two CPAs with the Unsung Hero Award and the Early Achievement Award.
The Unsung Hero Award is given to a CPA who demonstrates dedication, commitment and outstanding service to individuals or groups within the community through volunteer activities. It is intended to recognize service behind the scenes at the community level.
The Early Achievement Award is given to a CPA who demonstrates achievement and an ongoing commitment to professional excellence or community involvement within the first ten years of becoming a CPA.
We will honour all award recipients at the 2022 Members Awards Dinner on October 28 at the Hotel Halifax.

-Deborah Shaffner, CPA, CMA (Retired, previously CEO at Eastlink)
-Mike Uberoi, CPA, CMA (CEO, Melford Group of Companies)
-Sarah Veinot, CPA, CA (Partner, MNP LLP)
The recipient of the Early Achievement Award is:
-Laura Rees, CPA, CA (Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, CapIntel Inc)
The recipient of the Unsung Hero Award is:
