CAREGIVERS NOVA SCOTIA IS SEEKING NEW BOARD MEMBERS TO SERVE ON THE CAREGIVERS NOVA SCOTIA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
You Can Make A Difference!
Caregivers Nova Scotia is a non-profit and registered charity operating throughout Nova Scotia. We provide free programs, services, information and advocacy for family and friend caregivers. Caregivers contribute immeasurably to the quality of life of their loved ones and we consider it a privilege to support them in their efforts. Caregivers Nova Scotia serves all Nova Scotians. To assist us in responding to the unique needs of Nova Scotians, we are inviting applications from individuals in all regions throughout the province.
Unpaid caregivers are recognized, valued, and fully supported as essential partners in care.
Caregivers Nova Scotia is committed to providing support and education for unpaid caregivers, raising public awareness, and influencing public policy with respect to caregiving issues.

• Dignity and Respect
• Attend Board meetings (a minimum of 4-6 meetings per year).
• Prepare for Board meetings by reviewing advance materials.
• Develop an understanding and appreciation for the organization’s mission, vision, strategic plan, bylaws, and financial position.
• Be willing to participate in one or more board committees.
• Devote 4-8 hours per month to board activities.
• Where applicable, travel expenses are covered.
Who should apply:
Applicants should be driven by the belief that they can make a difference in the lives of caregivers in our province with their diverse backgrounds. Most of all, we are seeking those with an understanding of the demands, rewards, and challenges encountered by family/friend caregivers. Lived experience as a caregiver is considered an asset.
Length of Term:
Two (2) years Note: Terms are eligible for renewal to a maximum of three (3) consecutive terms.
